The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for a Gynecologic Oncologist Physician Scientist to join the thriving Division of Gynecologic Oncology with a team of nine faculty physicians, two PhD research faculty, and six advanced practice providers. Depending upon research scope, the candidate may also have a secondary appointment in the Division of Reproductive Sciences which has seven PhD faculty focused on research in endocrinology, immunology, embryology and reproductive health. The candidate is also given membership to the NCI-designated University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center and will have access to its many shared resources. The position is preferred to be at the level of Associate Professor or Professor based on candidate qualifications. The position will require approximately 80% of the applicant's time devoted to a new and unique research platform in gynecologic cancers and approximately 20% of their professional effort will be devoted to patient care including outpatient clinics, surgical procedures and participation in the on-call system. Leadership, management and operational skills and knowledge associated with research infrastructure in a university setting is necessary. Additional responsibilities may include teaching fellows, resident physicians, graduate students and medical students. Other opportunities to assume leadership roles are dependent upon the interests, experience and performance of the successful candidate as well as the needs of the department and division. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology began its academic mission of training excellent women's health physicians in 1929.
