NP/PAs provides 24/7 practice coverage alongside their physician colleagues at most sites. The NP/PA serves as an independent provider, collaborates with physicians and works with a variety of other healthcare professionals. MCHS Emergency Medicine has the BEST Program and would hire new grads. The Bootcamp Experience Staff Training (BEST) is a comprehensive 12-month onboarding program designed to integrate didactic education, simulation (SIM), and AI-driven learning. Combined with hands-on clinical experience in emergency practice, the program equips participants to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care at the bedside.
The NP/PA will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The NP/PA will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, lumbar puncture, intubation, non-invasive airway management, fracture reductions, procedural sedation, critical care management, etc. with opportunities to work in solo practice at critical access hospitals.
Schedule Details:
Quarterly
Shifts range from 8 to 13 hours
455 clinical hours a quarter
Weekend requirement is rotation of approximately 1 weekend a month days/night or power shift

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a:
Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP)
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP)
Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification (ENP)
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS is required but can be obtained after start.
