Responsibilities include: Comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and documentation of all cardiothoracic surgery patients in the Pre-operative, intraoperative and postoperative periods as well as follow up after discharge to insure there is continuity of care in patient management. Rounding in the ICU and on the floor (usual patient load per PA 2-3). Patient evaluation and treatment after team discussion with supervising physician as well as clear and concise documentation in the electronic medical records, placing orders on patients, following up on orders completion. This will include daily progress notes, consult notes, discharge summaries and patient education.
