A Brief Overview
The advanced practice provider (APP) provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. APP's are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. This role contributes to the mission and vision of the organization by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Nebraska state statues, administrative code and organization's bylaws. The APP is committed to a culture of clinical excellence, respect, innovation, and academic inquiry through collaborative practice with all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions
Responsible for providing safe, comprehensive and compassionate clinical care. Assesses patient, synthesizes and analyzes data, orders diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments, and evaluates clinical outcomes. Seeks and integrates the perspectives of interprofessional team members in developing and implementing the plan of care.
Preforms diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; prescribes medications and complex medical regimes while monitoring for desired and adverse outcomes, specific to the infant/child with high risk, complex acute, critical, or chronic conditions. ? Applies evidence based medicine pertinent to neonatal/pediatric populations. ? Continuously evaluates the relationships among access, cost, quality, safety and their influence on healthcare outcomes and sustainability. ? Assumes leadership role to establish and monitor standards of practice and to improve patient care through sharing knowledge, leading teams and developing programs. ? Constant consideration of child?s development, family?s readiness and resources when translating health information, education and support. ? Demonstrate understanding of internal and external rules, regulations and legislation as it relates to APP practice, licensure, certification and billing compliance. ? Maintains accurate log of credentialed procedures performed. Demonstrates competency and expertise when performing credentialed procedures/specialty skills. ? Serves as an advocate for the needs of the children and their families across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient/family experience possible. Care coordination per CMS and/or program guidelines and completes all required program education per CMS guidelines

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Think Quick works as a member of the health care team under supervision of a physician in Think's Urgent Care Clinic.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assess the medical, physical, social and psychological status of patients by obtaining a comprehensive problem-oriented health history, performing a physical examination of appropriate complexity, and ordering and evaluating laboratory, and other diagnostic studies as medically indicated.
Perform tests (e.g. throat cultures) as outlined in the treatment pathways or as deemed appropriate by the supervising physician.
Interpret available data in order to establish a preliminary diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. Consult as needed with collaborating physician regarding abnormal results, or when a medical problem is beyond the scope of his/her training. Provide appropriate referrals to clinic physicians and consulting physicians.
Order and/or administer injections and immunizations. Write prescriptions for controlled and non-controlled medications based on treatment protocols.
Maintain comprehensive and complete medical records, assuring the records are accurate and current. Clearly document all order and sign all entries. Provide complete and appropriate information for billing purposes.
Within the scope of practice, instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment. Provide appropriate patient education and counselling as to health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. Assist patients and care givers in identifying and utilizing community and other resources which will meet patient and family needs and lead to optimum health.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of healthcare management, principles and implications of standards for quality of care, quality measurement and monitoring, infection control and related features of today's healthcare environment.

A Brief Overview
The advanced practice provider (APP) provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. APP's are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. This role contributes to the mission and vision of the organization by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Nebraska state statues, administrative code and organization's bylaws. The APP is committed to a culture of clinical excellence, respect, innovation, and academic inquiry through collaborative practice with all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions
Responsible for providing safe, comprehensive and compassionate clinical care. ◦ Assesses patient, synthesizes and analyzes data, orders diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments, and evaluates clinical outcomes. ◦ Seeks and integrates the perspectives of interprofessional team members in developing and implementing the plan of care. ◦ Preforms diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; prescribes medications and complex medical regimes while monitoring for desired and adverse outcomes, specific to the infant/child with high risk, complex acute, critical, or chronic conditions. • Applies evidence based medicine pertinent to neonatal/pediatric populations. • Continuously evaluates the relationships among access, cost, quality, safety and their influence on healthcare outcomes and sustainability. • Assumes leadership role to establish and monitor standards of practice and to improve patient care through sharing knowledge, leading teams and developing programs. • Constant consideration of child's development, family's readiness and resources when translating health information, education and support. • Demonstrate understanding of internal and external rules, regulations and legislation as it relates to APP practice, licensure, certification and billing compliance. • Maintains accurate log of credentialed procedures performed. Demonstrates competency and expertise when performing credentialed procedures/specialty skills. • Serves as an advocate for the needs of the children and their families across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient/family experience possible.

Skills and Abilities
Satisfy all relevant criteria and qualifications outlined in the Medical Staff Policy on Allied Health Professional, required to be credentialed.
Maintains practice agreement with service of specialty, and practices within framework of respective scope of practice.
Must be knowledgeable in billing regulation practices to include documentation requirements/CPT coding regulations.
Knowledge of physical, mental, developmental, emotional and social needs of the neonate, infant, toddler, pre-school, school age and adolescent patients
Maintains current knowledge and skill level in field through reading appropriate journals, networking, and attendance at conferences or seminars.
Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure, and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple disciplines.
Ability to be self-directed, with minimum supervision, and detail oriented.
