The Physician - Pediatrics is responsible for comprehensive care to patients. They are responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Pediatric Director and per medical protocols. This position will collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Teaching Attending (TA). Reports to: Pediatric Director Responsibilities: Manage and maintain a program of comprehensive health for patients, including preventative medicine and acute chronic conditions. Care management of high-risk patients to reduce risk, decrease hospital and ER utilization, and improve outcomes. Maintenance of a care management registry for documentation of high-risk patients, care management interventions, and care plan. Timely and ongoing communication with the healthcare team to identify high risk patients and to maximize the management of patient needs and related risk reduction. Demonstrate effective use of verbal, non-verbal, and written skills to ensure communication with patients is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Interviews patients, obtain medical history, update all information in EHR according to standards. Provide patient medication information for all new prescriptions according to standards. Ability to supervise, advise and train clinical professionals and/or students in areas of expertise as well as a variety of health-related topics including first-aid measures, basic and advanced healthcare maintenance. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare colleagues. Experience: 2+ years of practicing medicine in a clinic, hospital or private practice preferred.
