You will work side by side with top physicians across two surgical teams consisting of gynecologic oncology, urology, and surgical oncology, plastics, GI, and breast oncology. In this role, you'll be an essential part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, managing patients through pre- and post-operative care in the inpatient setting. You will have the opportunity to exercise both independent judgement and team-based decision making, contributing to every stage of the surgical care process. We are looking for full-time, days and nights Physician Assistants to provide 24/7 coverage. We have multiple positions available. As a successful candidate, you will: Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, concise, relevant, and appropriate. Solid foundation in managing complex oncology cases, including post-op care, complications, and cancer-related treatments. Confident in making autonomous decisions while knowing when to collaborate with attending surgeons and specialists. Able to clearly communicate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team, providing education, support, and timely updates. Develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care with modifications as needed and in coordination with the attending physician when appropriate. Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse effects of pharmacologic agents. Review treatment and therapy plans with patients and appropriate family members. Practice clinical care informed by evidence-based literature. Instruct and counsel patients in matters related to health care management including diet, medication and physical and mental health needs and refers to the appropriate specialists when appropriate. Qualifications Your qualifications should include:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
