Develops a treatment plan for urological conditions in accordance with current urology practice and in conjunction with the urologist. Implements therapeutic intervention. Performs and/or assists in office procedures, including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) volume studies, urodynamics, cystoscopies, post-void residual (PVRs) evals, difficult catheterizations, post-op voiding trails and other necessary procedures. Orders and interprets lab, x-ray, special studies and clinical procedures and provides appropriate care and follow-up. Performs on-call duties for urology. Evaluates, screens and counsel patients on health maintenance and promotes utilization of community resources. Manages databases. Performs quality assurance. QUALIFICATIONS Current Rhode Island licensure as a Certified Registered Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Minimum of 2 years acute or ambulatory care experience as Advanced Practice Provider required. Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Certified PA/NP, Orthopedic surgery or other surgical specialty experience preferred but open to new grads that have graduated and obtained certification Work as a member of our inpatient/surgical APC team to support the Orthopedic department in our surgical cases with duties including: a) surgical first assist b) patient rounding c) orthopedic consultation evaluation and d) procedures such as joint aspiration and splinting.
