Your services support the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program. Veterans are scheduled for appointments at contracted facilities for compensation and pension exams and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume.
· The compensation and pension exam helps the VA answer questions about Veterans? current health. The practitioners will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication.
· Completed documentation is sent to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.
· Prior to the exam, the practitioner reviews a Veteran?s medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran?s claimed condition.
· The practitioner is guided through a web-based examination form in Client?s Provider Portal to capture the Veteran?s responses during the exam.
· Electronic exam documentation is known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) and must be submitted promptly within 48 hours of each appointment.
· The number of DBQs completed per exam will vary based on the Veteran?s claimed conditions.
· Administrative time is provided to complete exam documentation and ensure timely submission.
· The documentation is reviewed by a team of medical professionals to ensure contract compliance and guarantee the verbiage aligns with customer requirements.
· Requests for changes or corrections to exam documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of the appointment.
· Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for Veterans.
· The Practitioner will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form; all documentation will be completed electronically.
· Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
· General Medical take 45 minutes to several hours, depending on number of disabilities being claimed; Practitioner will be provided an approximate appointment length estimate for each scheduled exam, based on the Veteran?s claim(s)

Emergency Medicine provides Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma care for more than 33 of California's 58 counties. UC Davis Health System is home to state-of-the-art emergency care for children. The Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis provides a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, 42 residents, and a total of 26 specialists of every medical and surgical specialty to treat critically ill and injured adults and children. Job Description:
Helps patients by evaluating medical conditions.
Develops and implements treatment plans, including prescriptions.
Monitors and evaluates treatment results.
Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
Develops treatment plans by determining nature and extent of medical conditions.
Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews; and remaining available for emergency consultations.
Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and writing summaries.
Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a degree in medicine and a valid license from the California Medical Board.

Current BLS/ACLS required
Current DEA required

We are seeking a Clinical Advisor who is a true subject matter authority in perimenopause and menopause care-an experienced physician whose clinical judgment is trusted in the most complex scenarios. This role is central to supporting our rapidly growing clinician team and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and clinical excellence across the organization.
This is not a routine clinical role. It is designed for physicians who routinely manage complex, multi-comorbidity cases, serve as escalation points for other clinicians, and bring national-level expertise in midlife women's health.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary clinical authority for real-time clinician questions and escalations, with a required 30-minute response time
Support direct patient care, including escalated visits and DEA-required encounters
Review and manage time-sensitive patient cases, laboratory results, and clinical inbox items
Identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and share insights with clinical leadership
Participate in Doc of the Day coverage
Fulfill physician collaboration responsibilities as required
Partner with the Medical Director to refine and uphold clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practices
Contribute to clinical quality, education, and safety initiatives
Fulfill state-required collaborating physician duties in designated states
What Makes You a Fit
Board-Certified MD or DO with a demonstrated record of clinical excellence
5+ years of advanced, specialized experience in perimenopause and menopause care, beyond routine or protocol-driven management
Recognized subject matter authority in managing complex midlife women's health cases, including patients with multiple and interacting comorbidities
Expertise in cancer survivorship care strongly preferred, particularly related to hormone management and long-term risk assessment
At least 5 years of direct patient care within the past 5 years, with active clinical practice
2+ years of telehealth experience, including comfort managing complex cases and clinician escalations virtually
Demonstrated willingness and ability to obtain and maintain active, unrestricted licensure in all 50 states
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide and support other clinicians through nuanced clinical decision-making
Availability for 20 hours per week, with a commitment to engaging in Midi clinical work exclusively during mutually agreed-upon scheduled hours
