The Opportunity:
The One Medical Virtual Medical Team (VMT) is a leading provider of virtual clinical care, providing world-class, convenient, evidence-based virtual medical care to One Medical patients in concert with their primary care providers. Through advanced technology and a team-based approach, we care for patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Employment type:
Full time (32 hours minimum including overnights and weekends)
Overnight experience preferred
Overnight shifts: Range from 7pm - 7am Pacific Time
What you'll be working on:
Treating patients via tele-health visits, including telephonic triage calls, video visit appointments, and email follow-ups
Continuous learning during weekly Clinical Rounds and through other modalities
Ongoing collaboration with both virtual and in-office teammates via daily huddles
Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to give exceptional care to patients virtually
Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:
Completed an accredited PA program with a national certification
Currently licensed in CA for West Coast teams with ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
In the past 5 years, practiced as an PA:
4 years in an outpatient primary care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+), OR 4 years in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting seeing patients of all ages (0+)
Ability to work overnights (current shifts range from 7pm-7am)
Ability to work weekday and weekend shifts
Excellent clinical and communication skills

One Medical is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The base hourly range for this role is $71.00 to $79.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule plus weekend and holiday differential. Final determination of starting pay may vary based on factors such as practice experience, physical location (state you live in) and patient care schedule. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions:
Primary Care & Patient Management.
The Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (or Family Medicine Provider) will deliver comprehensive primary care to an assigned patient panel in accordance with DHA-PI 6025.11. Serving as the Primary Care Manager (PCM), the provider will be the central point of contact for patients' healthcare needs - ensuring continuity of care, promoting preventative health, and maintaining the medical readiness of the patient population. The PCM must also be knowledgeable in military-specific healthcare requirements, policies, and procedures.
Direct Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, including history and physical examinations, for patients of all ages.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory studies, X-rays, and other imaging procedures.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based guidelines.
Prescribe medications and other therapies, adhering to the Air Force Formulary and established protocols.
Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., wound care, skin biopsies, joint injections) as appropriate and within scope of practice.
Provide women's health services, including routine gynecological exams and family planning counseling (if within scope of practice).
Provide pediatric care, including well-child exams, immunizations, and treatment of common childhood illnesses (if within scope of practice).
Address behavioral health concerns and provide referrals to mental health professionals as needed.
Coordinate patient care with specialist and other healthcare providers.
Readiness & Military Specific Responsibilities. The provider will support the Air Force mission by maintaining the health and deploy ability of service members through the following duties:
Medical Readiness Oversight: Monitor and manage Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) metrics, including immunizations, Preventative Health Assessments (PHA), Mental Health Assessments (MHA), and dental readiness.
Health Assessments & Deployment Preparation: Conduct PHAs, pre-deployment screenings, and other readiness evaluations.
Deployment Health Management: Diagnose, treat, and follow up on deployment-related conditions and injuries.
Operational Medical Support: Provide clinical support during base exercises, contingency operations, and public health emergencies as needed.
Medical Review Participation: Contribute to Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs), Physical Evaluation Boards (PEBs), and related administrative processes.
Standards Compliance: Adhere to all Air Force medical standards, clinical protocols, and documentation requirements.
Medical Travel: When a patient's condition requires medical travel, initiate and process all required documentation in accordance with Air Force and DHA policy to ensure timely coordination of care.
Fitness & Performance Guidance: Maintain knowledge of Air Force physical fitness standards and waiver policies, and counsel members on strategies to meet or maintain those requirements.
Command Consultation: Serve as a trusted medical advisor to unit commanders on matters affecting the health, readiness, and operational capability of their personnel.
Documentation and Administration:
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records in the Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS electronic Health Record (EHR).
Document all patient encounters, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions, in the EHR.
Complete all necessary administrative tasks, such as coding and billing documentation.
Participate in quality improvement activities and peer review.
Comply with all applicable Air Force regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical documentation.
Teamwork and Leadership:
Mentor medical technicians and other support staff.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and specialists, to provide coordinated patient care.
Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
Serve as a resource for other healthcare providers on medical topics.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members on the healthcare team.
Participate in clinic performance improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities to maintain professional competence.
Serve on committees as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Nurse Practitioner. Master's degree in nursing. Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Certification: Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties). Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse. Must have current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Your services support the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program. Veterans are scheduled for appointments at contracted facilities for compensation and pension exams and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume.
The compensation and pension exam helps the VA answer questions about Veterans' current health.
The practitioners will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication.
Completed documentation is sent to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.
Prior to the exam, the practitioner reviews a Veteran's medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran's claimed condition.
The practitioner is guided through a web-based examination form in Client's Provider Portal to capture the Veteran's responses during the exam.
Electronic exam documentation is known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) and must be submitted promptly within 48 hours of each appointment.
The number of DBQs completed per exam will vary based on the Veteran's claimed conditions.
Administrative time is provided to complete exam documentation and ensure timely submission.
The documentation is reviewed by a team of medical professionals to ensure contract compliance and guarantee the verbiage aligns with customer requirements.
Requests for changes or corrections to exam documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of the appointment.
Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for Veterans.
