We are looking for candidates with at least 1 year of cardiology experience, though we are open to reviewing new graduates as well. However, preference will be given to those with prior experience. Responsibilities*
Under a collaborative physician agreement, the PA will be expected to perform the following responsibilities:
Patient contact (80%)
Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultations to patients age 10 + with a wide variety of acute and chronic health concerns that present in an ambulatory setting. The scope of care includes comprehensive primary care including all common mental health conditions, PREP/PEP, gender affirming care, and non-operative gynecological care to both students and non-students. Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis. Maintain compliance with billing and coding practices. Participate in the management of on-site medical emergency procedures. Perform common minor office procedures, including I&D, laceration, and LARC.
Administrative/non-patient contact (20%)
Provide indirect patient care via phone calls, patient portal, and other modes of communication.
Attend and actively participate in on-site Continuing Medical Education activities and other outside CME activities relevant to specific area of training.
Participate in the administrative functioning of UHS through various committees, work-groups or special projects as directed by the Medical Director or designee.
Complete regular peer review and quality improvement activities as coordinated through the Primary Care clinics and the Quality Improvement Committee.

Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine health status and needs.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines.
Perform procedures such as laceration repair, splinting, I&D, foreign body removals, PAP smears as required.
Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols within the practice setting.
Utilize electronic health record systems such as ECW for documentation and patient management.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Master?s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant from an accredited program.
Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant by a recognized certifying body.
Valid MI state license with prescriptive authority.
Experience in Urgent care, primary care, or emergency department is required.
Suturing skills required.
Must be comfortable working alone.
Addiction experience is preferred.
Strong clinical skills in areas such as infection control and diagnostic evaluation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
