Are you living your life's work? **Position Description:** Penn Medicine - The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Heart Failure and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) team. As part of a highly productive cardiology group consisting of 30 Physicians and 26 Nurse Practitioners, our heart failure team offers sub-specialty clinics in the areas of pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart disease, cardio-oncology, maternal cardiology and VAD. With the capabilities to offer a full spectrum of mechanical circulatory support devices, we thrive on innovation and state-of-the-art technology and are proud to serve some of the longest surviving destination therapy patients in the country. Our group is nationally recognized for the lowest heart failure readmission rates in the country. Established in 2005 as one of the earliest community hospitals to implant VADs, our program collaborates with three MCD cardio-thoracic surgeons offering all available BTT and DT platforms. As a forward-thinking group, our team participates in over 20 clinical trials, encourages and supports research endeavors. We collaborate with Penn Medicine's Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team regularly to improve quality of life and a better life expectancy for heart failure patients. Our APPs enjoy collaborative practice with a high degree of autonomy. APPs round on inpatients, participate in consultations, and coordinate discharges. The APP will see patients in the outpatient heart failure clinic and VAD clinic. **Hours:** This position is full-time, usual hours 0730-1730 (10-hour shifts); 8 shifts in a 2-week period. VAD call is one week per month and shared with other VAD APPs. This responsibility includes answering emergency VAD patient calls and nursing calls. The on-call VAD APP is available to cover inpatient VAD emergency procedures and admissions to the hospital during off hours. **Minimum Requirements** **Nurse Practitioner** + Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania + Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse + Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required - this position requires Adult/ Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification. + Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner with experience in Heart Failure and/or VAD preferred. **Physician Assistant** + Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine. + Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program. + Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant with experience in Heart Failure and/or VAD preferred.
