The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a physician-scientist with a nationally recognized research program in vascular biology. Successful candidates will have an exceptional record of accomplishment in vascular biology research, supported by a record of national funding, scholarly achievement and publication, and will have demonstrated leadership, faculty mentorship experience and a commitment to translational and collaborative research. The program leader will strengthen and expand existing research activities and lead multidisciplinary research collaborations of scientists and clinicians related to vascular function and disease. Function/Duties of Position Administrative: The program leader (a) supports the development of innovative experimental approaches to a broad range of programs in basic and translational science, (b) guides development of cutting-edge infrastructure and resources in partnership with other groups within KCVI, (c) oversees the development of a vascular biology research community at OHSU. Research: The Director will be expected to establish and maintain a fully-funded independent individual research program focused on vascular biology research. Function/Duties of Position The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute within Community Hematology Oncology (CHO), is hiring Providers for the following locations: Portland Metro-East Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Clinics Tualatin Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Clinics Gresham Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Clinics Community Oncology Leader - Specialist in Breast Cancer Float 0.0 FTE Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Clinics - We are seeking a 0.0 FTE Float Provider to help with coverage at multiple CHO locations. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor to further the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. It is anticipated the position will be made up of the following components: Clinical and In-Patient Service. Teaching and Research/Academic pursuits may occur. Support of the mission, goals, and objectives of OHSU, The Knight Cancer Institute, The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology which includes the Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Section and the School of Medicine. Care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disease at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Beaverton location, and possibly other practice locations as needed. Participate with other Division and CHO staff and provider teams as needed. Participate in administrative committees and councils of OHSU, Legacy, and other community partners as approved by the Division Head and Section Chief. Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with the knowledge and consent of the Division Head and Section Chief. Participate, as desired, in the education of medical students and house staff. Assure that every patient has an opportunity to be considered for a clinical trial. Required Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, DO, MBBS, MBBCh Medical oncologist/hematologist licensed to practice medicine in Oregon; Board certified/board eligible in medical oncology/hematology. Desire to practice in a community-based clinical environment as part of an academic health care system. Preferred Qualifications Physician leadership experience demonstrates the background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the ability to provide excellent clinical care to cancer patients in the community setting.
