The Site Medical Director serves as the responsible Physician and health authority required by national standards. They provide overall supervision for clinical services for the site to ensure appropriate delivery of on and off site necessary medical care but have no other managerial responsibilities.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR / PHYSICIAN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited medical school
Fully licensed to practice in the state of employment
Current DEA Registration
Preferred board certified or board eligible in primary care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) with administrative experience in corrections and/or managed healthcare delivery
Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
Must be a supportive team member who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept.
Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
MEDICAL DIRECTOR / PHYSICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Consult with medical providers in the community to resolve issues in delivering services to patients.
Supervise the clinical services provided by the professional and paraprofessional staff.
Ensure and provide on-call services.
Annually review and approve clinical protocols, policies and procedures, and medical disaster plans.
Manage referrals to outside healthcare facilities for appropriateness, quality, and continuity of care.
Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in compliance with the state law for correctional facilities.
Serve as a resource to all staff Physicians and applicable clinical staff at the facility(s).
Assist in screening, interviewing, evaluating credentials, and hiring of healthcare providers.
Participate in in-service training classes.
Represent the healthcare program in discussions with local civic groups or visiting officials as requested.
Attend medical, clinical and other meetings, as required.
Complete sick call, chronic care and infirmary care as required.
Document all encounters in patient's medical record.
Ensure all documentation is timed, legible and signed.
Ensure all verbal or telephone orders are countersigned as required.
Adhere to approved formulary for therapeutic regimens before utilizing non-formulary procedure.
Review all non-formulary requests to ensure documentation of pertinent observations and treatment conclusions.
Utilize available in-house resource personnel for treatment and resolution of identified problems before utilizing off-site
referral.
Provide emergency treatment on-site and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
To redefine benchmarks for the industry utilizing core values, strong partnerships, effective clinical practices, and innovative healthcare strategies.
Ensure competence in proper technique for basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED use.
Follow evidence base standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures.

An opportunity exists for a full or part-time hematologist/oncologist at the Milo C. Huempfner Outpatient Clinic, located in Green Bay, WI. The Milo C. Huempfner Outpatient Clinic is a new 162,000 square foot VA primary care and multi-specialty clinic located in Green Bay. The Milo C. Huempfner VA Outpatient Clinic has a full scope hematology/clinic along with an outpatient chemotherapy/infusion center.
The successful candidate should be comfortable performing all aspects of adult hematology/oncology. All care will be provided in an outpatient setting only with no inpatient care responsibilities. Qualified candidates should be BE/BC in Hematology/Oncology. The selected candidate should demonstrate the ability to work well with a large, diverse and dedicated patient care staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic.

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Part-Time Primary Care Physician (MD) to join the N.E.W Community Clinic's Healthcare for the Homeless Mobile unit team focused on providing quality medical care to underserved populations, particularly the homeless and residents in shelters and low-income neighborhoods. This position requires a provider who is eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who face significant barriers to healthcare access. The ideal candidate will have the patience to work with individuals experiencing trauma, while also being empathetic and assertive in ensuring that patients adhere to necessary healthcare protocols. We are looking for someone who can work 8-16 hours a week on the Mobile unit. *
Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for homeless individuals and residents of shelters and low-income communities who may have limited access to healthcare. * Diagnose- compare clinical findings, normal and abnormal variations formulating a diagnosis and plan for treatment. Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date, and follow-up in a timely manner. * Trauma-Informed Care: Utilize trauma-informed practices to assess and treat patients, recognizing the impact of past experiences such as homelessness, abuse, or neglect, and responding with sensitivity and understanding. * Planning- identifies assessment findings along with diagnostic strategies and collaborates with the patient on a plan of care in conjunction with prescribing medication in accordance with Wisconsin statute and professional practice guidelines. Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at N.E.W. Community Clinic. * Quality- comply with the N.E.W. Community Clinic Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by support staff. Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings. Adhere to Uniform Data Set (UDS) productivity standards and meet at least the minimum requirement. * Collaboration- assist in outside medical public relations functions. Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs in the N.E.W. Community Clinic service area as assigned by the CEO/Medical Director or designee. * Promote the mission of the N.E.W. Community Clinic. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Supervises students in training at N.E.W. Community Clinic as assigned by the Coordinator/CEO/Medical Director or designee.
