The Division also oversees faculty in a number of community practices, known as Community Hematology and Oncology (CHO), and maintains a strong collaboration with the VA Medical Center, linked to the main campus by a skybridge. The Division, the largest component of the Knight Cancer Institute, aims to provide outstanding patient care, ensure access to high-quality clinical and translational clinical trials, and integrate basic research. Support of the mission, goals, and objectives of OHSU, The Knight Cancer Institute, The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology which includes the Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) Section and the School of Medicine. Care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disease at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Beaverton location, and possibly other practice locations as needed. Participate with other Division and CHO staff and provider teams as needed. Participate in administrative committees and councils of OHSU, Legacy, and other community partners as approved by the Division Head and Section Chief. Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with the knowledge and consent of the Division Head and Section Chief. Participate, as desired, in the education of medical students and house staff. Assure that every patient has an opportunity to be considered for a clinical trial. Required Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, DO, MBBS, MBBCh Medical oncologist/hematologist licensed to practice medicine in Oregon; Board certified/board eligible in medical oncology/hematology. Desire to practice in a community-based clinical environment as part of an academic health care system. Preferred Qualifications Physician leadership experience demonstrates the background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the ability to provide excellent clinical care to cancer patients in the community setting.
