We respond to codes and rapid alerts on our patients, as well as if one is called and we are nearby. Our team is highly engaged in helping each other in any way we can.

* Area of Interest: Physicians and Medical Residents * Job ID: 127104 UnityPoint Clinic and St. Luke's Hospital are actively recruiting for a Neonatology Physician to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. St. Luke's Hospital NICU provides care to term and preterm newborn infants in our advanced 22-bed AAP Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Our team full team will include 4 neonatologists and 4 nurse practitioners providing 24 x 7 in-house neonatology coverage for our free-standing Women's and Children's Health Center.
We provide care for non-surgical patients of infants ≥ 23 weeks' gestation and serve as a regional hub for affiliate institutions throughout northeastern Iowa. Our practice includes high-frequency ventilation (both jet and oscillator), inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and specialized transport services. We strive to collaboratively provide up-to-date, evidence-based, multi-disciplinary, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate care. There is a strong focus on family centered care for which the NICU has been nationally recognized and hosts a Ronald McDonald Family Room.

Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive critical care to neonatal inpatients
* Neonatal consultation services (e.g., newborn nursery, inpatient pediatrics, emergency department, labor and delivery, referring institutions, etc.)
* Perform procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, endotracheal intubation, umbilical lines, etc.)
* Communicate with caregivers
* Timely accurate documentation in electronic medical record (NeoData, Epic)
* Participate in teaching and development of nursing and ancillary staff (e.g., STABLE, NRP, bedside teaching, educational conferences, etc.)
* Participate in maintenance and improvement of unit practice (e.g., VON quality collaboratives, journal clubs, division meetings, protocol writing/review, etc.)
* Work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
* Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment

Well established Hospitalist program since 2006, currently includes 18 physician & 1 ARNP team
Care team support that includes 5 dedicated hospitalist RNs for care coordination and rounding efficiency + 1 CDE nurse
Shifts available: Day shift rounding and swing shift; Night admitting and swing shift
PRN - minimum of 3 shifts/month
Excellent multi-specialty support
Open ICU with intensivist availability to consult
Responsibilities
14-17 patient census/Physician
Admitting/Rounding on medical/surgical patients 18-years of age and older (adult), & non-maternity
Shifts available: Day shift rounding and swing shift; Night admitting and swing shift
Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays - shared equally amongst group
Qualifications
MD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; Must be board certified within year of employment
Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of State
Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
Eligible to work in the United States

Our group specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the liver and digestive tract, including the stomach, duodenum, gallbladder, biliary tract, pancreas, small intestine and colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system
Procedures that our team performs:
* Colonoscopy
* EGD (Upper Endoscopy)
* ERCP
* Sigmoidoscopy
* Breath Testing
* Capsule Endoscopy
* Esophageal pH Study
* Esophageal Manometry
This position offers:
* Established Gastroenterology practice with 3 Physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
* Provide coverage exclusively at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital and the Surgery Center Cedar Rapids, IA.
* Future of a new large Endo suite
* Part of a large multi-specialty group, including primary care, providing a built-in referral base.
* Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
* Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
* Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
* Full time position with a combination of inpatient, clinic, and procedures
* Shared call amongst Physicians: Quarterly: 1/4
* Prefer experience with ERCP
Qualifications
