Contributes to policies and protocols for mid-level practitioners; assists in supervising mid-level providers in the GVHC.

Greater Valley Health Center provides patient centered, integrated primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare for all ages.
Our community health center is nestled in the beautiful northwest corner of Montana and close to Glacier National Park and surrounding four-season outdoor activities. The right candidate will have a passion for providing services to patients and will enjoy working closely with other healthcare professionals in the FQHC setting. We also participate in the NHSC loan repayment program.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
These duties are the essential functions and are not all-inclusive of all duties that the incumbent performs.
Provides primary medical care, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients, and maintains medical records of patient visits using adopted format.
Address preventive health and public health issues as appropriate.
Assures appropriate referrals and/or hospitalization with hospitalists as indicated for patients.
Participates in after-hours call system for GVHC patients in collaboration with other GVHC providers.
Participates in quality assurance activities including chart review, CQI team participation and other activities as assigned by the Medical Director.
Participates in GVHC staff meetings and clinic meetings and serves in a leadership role for other staff regarding commitment to GVHC mission and philosophy.
Establishes, reviews and maintains clinical policies and principles to assure the quality of medical care provided to patients.
Contributes to policies and protocols for mid-level practitioners; assists in supervising mid-level providers in the GVHC.
Performs related work as required or directed.
Special Requirements:
Licensed as M.D. or D.O. in the State of Montana with full prescriptive authority with no history of licensure suspension or disciplinary action.

Referral Base: Large referral base across multiple specialties
Population Served: ~130,000 across Flathead and Lincoln Counties
Practice Model: Choose from Outpatient, Inpatient, or a hybrid role
EMR: Meditech (transitioning to Oracle by 2027)
Outpatient Team
3 Full-Time Providers: 2 Psychiatrists (MD) + 1 PMHNP
Treat a full spectrum of Behavioral Health conditions
Panel size: 300-900 patients depending on provider tenure
Daily volume: 12-18 patients
No cap on patient volume; 2-year ramp-up with guaranteed salary

LPN support for providers
Integrated care with LCSW, LCPC, LMFT therapists on-site
Smooth transitions between outpatient and inpatient care
Schedule & Call
Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
Inpatient Call: 1:7 rotation (Friday 5 PM-Monday 7 AM)
Weekday Call: 1:7 rotation (Mon-Thurs)
Note: All psychiatrists, including outpatient-only, participate in inpatient call
