Aspects of the Primary Care physician role:
Team based approach; Each provider is part of a subset or pod of the larger primary care team at our Lynnwood site. Each pod integrates MD/DO, ARNP or PA , with RN and MA support. The ARNP or PA helps support indirect care. It is standard to have team coverage when a provider is out of the office. With effective communication and empowerment of lead MAs, pods are able to adapt and make changes quickly that fit their local team needs.
Integrative primary care model; Each primary care team site has an embedded pharmacist, social worker and psychiatrist partnering to provide a focused consultation model resulting in excellent health outcomes. Social workers are available to help address social/emotional/behavioral/environment needs.
Embedded specialty services ; You will have the opportunity to work side by side with medical specialists in your clinic. You will have referral options to over 30+ medical specialties within Virginia Mason with collegial and responsive results. You will work side by side with many specialists with the ability to text-page those on call.
Teaching opportunities; Virginia Mason is a teaching environment with regular opportunities to precept medical students and residents. Many Virginia Mason physicians attend the many local CME options within the state and present at the local ACP annual chapter meeting for WA state. Physicians will have the option to attend monthly professional staff meetings and weekly Grand Rounds within the Virginia Mason team.
Learning opportunities; The team has a teaching culture and is a conducive environment for providers newly out of residency. A formal mentorship program is in place to help guide new providers to Virginia Mason and support them for long term success. In addition, we offer intermittent physician coaching throughout your career to work on the documentation and financial aspect of running our practice.

Summary
Kaiser Permanente - Washington Permanente Medical Group (WPMG) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Physiatrist, Spine Clinic Physician to join our Spine Clinic team based in Puyallup, WA. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an integrated care delivery system that prioritizes evidence-based medicine, patient-centered care, and physician collaboration.
Core Components of this position include:
Evaluating and managing patients in the outpatient clinic at all points in the care continuum.
The population of patients ranges from acute spinal problems to more chronic conditions.
Primarily diagnostic workups and treatment plans.
Some longitudinal management is a part of the practice but not an expectation.
Close relationship with our neurosurgery group who conducts all of our spine surgeries.
You would also work with associated specialties such as the anesthesia pain clinic who do all of our fluoroscopic injections and pain procedures.
You would not be expected to manage chronic pain patients on opioids. You would not be expected to prescribe opioids except in unusual circumstances that are appropriate.
This is a Non-Operative Spine Clinic position where fluoroscopically guided injections or interventions are not part of the position. There is potential for in-office injections with ultrasound, but this is not required.
No call or inpatient rounding.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $297,995 to $350,582
(salary will be prorated based on FTE, new hire salaries will be based on factors such as education, training and experience.)
