The Physician Director is the senior clinical leader of a VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic serving enrolled Veterans. This role combines direct patient care with medical leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, equitable, and Veteran-centered services aligned to the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, VA directives, and evidence-based practice. The Physician Director oversees the provider team, partners with nursing/administration on operations and access, drives quality and safety initiatives, ensures regulatory and accreditation readiness, and represents the clinic in market-level clinical governance.
Direct supervision of employed/contracted providers (MD/DO, NP/PA); dotted-line leadership for clinical support staff in partnership with nursing leadership.
