Your patient load could range between 15-22 a day. You will have autonomy to refer individuals to see a specialist as needed. We use a very generous formulary which allows you to prescribe the appropriate type of medications solely based on your judgment. You will be working alongside a skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner. We have comprehensive practical Nursing Guidelines that the nurses use when screening individual patients before they are to be seen by you. The detention center is staffed by licensed healthcare professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All the behavioral and mental health patients are diagnosed and managed by our Licensed Mental Health clinicians and our Psychiatrist. The medical department of the detention center already has protocols and guidelines for management of individuals who arrive to the jail who might be going through withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines and other illicit substances. We have designated medical records assistance that will obtain offsite medical records prior to incarceration. We have a very user-friendly EMR system and a dedicated in-house support team to help train and troubleshoot any issues as needed. You can put the headache behind you of having to fill out insurance required forms, unnecessary bureaucratic paperwork or having to worry about collections. The medical department and any other areas that you may end up to see patients is staffed by security personnel 24/7. The majority of the new arrivals to the detention center will be released or bonded within the first week.
