The Mayo Clinic Arizona Division of Infectious Diseases provides consultation and treatment for inpatients and outpatients with all types of infectious disease. Special interest is placed on the diagnosis and treatment of difficult infectious diseases including mycobacterial and fungal infections (including coccidioidomycosis) and AIDS. Special areas of consultative services include AIDS/HIV infections, Coccidioidomycosis/Valley Fever, Endocarditis, Fever of unknown origin, Orthopedic infections, Osteomyelitis, and Transplants. Infectious diseases constitute three of the top 10 overall leading causes of death in the world. An ever-changing landscape with ease of international travel permitting rapid dissemination of emerging pathogens, evolution and increasing prevalence of multidrug-resistant microbes in the health care setting, novel and more-intense immunosuppressive therapies placing patients at a higher risk of opportunistic infections, and the ongoing HIV epidemic are some of the reasons why the field of infectious diseases is an exciting, challenging and immensely rewarding specialty.

Primary Responsibilities
Assess and manage a variety of ENT conditions, including sinus disorders, ear pathology, and throat/voice complaints
Participate in in-office procedures such as:
Flexible and rigid nasal endoscopy
Cerumen removal
Nasal and sinus debridement
Provide both pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care
Collaborate closely with ENT physicians and clinic staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
Complete accurate, timely documentation using EMR (eClinicalWorks experience preferred)
Participate in a shared, low-volume triage call schedule
Maintain CME, licensure, and all necessary certifications
Candidate Requirements
Required:
Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Arizona
National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
Minimum of 3 years of direct clinical ENT experience
Preferred:
ENT experience involving oncology, thyroid, or head and neck cancer care
Comfort with or interest in pediatric ENT
Familiarity with eClinicalWorks
Ability to independently manage a daily caseload of 15?25 patients
Existing ENT procedural skills or eagerness to develop them
