**Trial Start-Up**

Medical input into CTP updates.

Job Summary
The study physician is a responsible member of the clinical team providing medical expertise and medical oversight for the entire clinical trial, from initial study design through final study close-out. Qualifications:
Experience in designing clinical trial plans, organizing clinical trials, and writing summary reports independently.
Knowledge about research administration, experience with investigator initiated trials.
Substantial knowledge and understanding of federal regulations affecting clinical trials and medical research is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience in experimental design, and basic understanding of statistics and statistical methods is required.

Job Description
The Physician Coding Educator provides education in coding and billing compliance to physicians,physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and clinical service auxiliary providers to improve the workflow and promote overall clinical documentation improvement. Creates communication of important coding and billing information for administrative and finance leaders as it relates to their areas. Assists in the development of evaluation and management and other billing code utilization reports for comparison to national and peer-to-peer data. Supports the improvement of overall coding and billing practices of the physician professional services. In addition, the Physician Coding Educator provides subject matter expertise related to documentation and coding requirements to support provider's performance of appropriate and compliant charge capture for professional services. This individual develops and trains Children's practitioners on educational content related to coding, documentation and charge capture while monitoring the ongoing coding and documentation needs of the organization and providing feedback to Children's leadership. Collaboration with the Physician Leaders, Practice Leaders, Compliance, Legal and Finance on coding initiatives and goals is key.

Required Skills:
Proven experience in general CV, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
Proficiency in coronary artery bypass, valvular repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, lung resections, and chest procedures
Skilled in endarterectomy (carotid & renal), ventilation management, and bronchoscopy
Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently
Knowledge of EPIC documentation system
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)
Ability to manage complex acute CV and thoracic conditions
Familiarity with hospital workflows and multidisciplinary team coordination
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Minimum of 3 years post-residency surgical experience
Prior locum or hospital-based surgical experience highly desirable
Other Requirements:
Active medical license to practice in Ohio
Availability for 24-hour shift coverage from 7 am to 7 am on specified dates
Certifications in ACLS and ATLS
Willingness to travel and provide weekend or holiday coverage when required
The hourly pay rate for this locum position is $19.50.
