VHS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Care Physician to support the Medical Homeport at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, CA. This part-time opportunity offers a flexible schedule with only two weekday shifts per week, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life while providing essential healthcare services to a diverse patient population from neonatal to geriatric. As a vital member of our team, you will deliver comprehensive primary care, including preventive health, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education, in a dynamic military healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct full-spectrum primary care exams and treatments for patients across all age groups.
Perform preventive health assessments, physicals, and screenings such as PRT, PHA, and sports physicals.
Diagnose and manage urgent and non-urgent medical conditions, prescribing medications as needed.
Coordinate referrals and ensure accurate documentation in compliance with MTF policies.
Provide health education and counseling to promote positive health behaviors.
Support clinical instruction and participate in in-service training for healthcare staff.
Respond to medical emergencies within the clinic and coordinate emergent patient transportation when necessary.
Required Skills:
MD or DO degree with a valid, unrestricted medical license.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Family Practice setting within the past 5 years.
Board eligibility (board certification preferred) by the American Board of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or equivalent.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Ability to pass a government background check and obtain security clearance.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working within military or government healthcare systems.
Additional certifications or training in emergency medicine or specific clinical areas.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and team members.
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
At least 3 years of recent primary care experience.
Prior experience working with military or veteran populations is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
Availability for two weekday shifts per week, between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm.
Willingness to undergo a background check and security clearance process.
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $180/hr

Responsibilities
Spends 100% of time in a center providing direct patient care, leading by example, enhancing processes and procedures to minimize visit times, and creating an exceptional patient experience
Ensures day-to-day execution as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for all injuries collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive optimal clinical outcomes and expedite case closure

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The physician serves as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities he or she is responsible for;

Physician will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients residing in SNFs;
Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with acute illness, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes

Key Responsibilities:
Provide round-the-clock, in-hospital OB-GYN coverage, ensuring continuous patient care and safety.

Handle obstetrical triage and emergency situations with prompt, evidence-based decision-making.
Conduct comprehensive obstetric patient assessments, including evaluations during labor, antepartum, and postpartum periods.
Assist with obstetrical surgical procedures, including cesarean sections and other necessary interventions.
Monitor fetal health through advanced fetal monitoring techniques, collaborating closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists.
Support patients cared for in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), operated in partnership with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
Collaborate routinely with pediatric subspecialists and MFM teams to coordinate comprehensive obstetric and neonatal care.
Uphold the highest standards of evidence-based practice, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and safety.
Qualifications:
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Valid medical license to practice in California.
Residency or prior experience in obstetric hospitalist medicine.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care.
