Job Overview: Psychiatrists work 8:00a to 4:30p; one (1) hour lunch; Monday-Friday. They are Head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team of an acute or sub-acute unit. They provide supervision for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, if applicable. Unless other assigned clinical duties prevent doing so, the physician shall be on his/her assigned unit during the morning hours in order to confer with other members of the patient treatment team concerning current clinical issues, review lab reports, consultations, and/or any other reports not previously reviewed by the physician, and as appropriate, shall take steps needed to address patient care issues related to these documents. The Physician conducts clinical reviews (rounds) during the morning hours routinely, allowing them to make the other core members of the treatment team aware of any change in the patient care deemed necessary, and allows for any changes in treatment deemed necessary to be implemented the same day.
