All persons legally authorized to work in the United States Overview The Airfield Grounds Foreman will maintain the airport in compliance with the requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and to supervise the Equipment Operators. Directs workflow and assigns work order assignments for direct reports. Identifies and makes recommendations for personnel development, training, and discipline. Maintains airfield markings, removal, application, and compliance and maintains the airport drainage ditches. Assist the landside staff on mowing and assist the airport mechanic in minor equipment repairs. Responsibilities * Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance of all landscaping and airport grounds inside of airfield fence line. * Prioritize, assign, and direct work orders. * Meet regularly with staff to monitor special projects, audit results. * Monitor the performance of staff to ensure work is performed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. * Monitor materials and supplies, supervise resource allocations to maintain inventory and ensure adequate resource are available. * Coordinate work with other departments or outside agencies when work may impact tenants or passengers. * Administer and enter complete, accurate work order information in Maximo system, monitor asset management programs, while directing preventative maintenance program for assets. * Maintain airfield safety areas and interior fields by maintaining grass heights per FAA regulations, filling in ruts, leveling humps, removing edge dams, maintaining pavement edge drop offs, and trimming grass around lights and guidance signs so they are visible to pilots and vehicle operators. * Maintain pavement markings per FAA specifications and remove when needed. * Maintain thermoplastic markings per manufacture's specifications. * Repair concrete and asphalt on the taxiways, runways, aprons, and service roads per FAA specifications. * Perform repairs to the airfield perimeter fence and gates. * Maintain perimeter security integrity through active and passive wildlife management. * Prevent vegetation growth in the fence line per TSA and FAA regulations. * Mow ditches, grade ditch bottoms to ensure water flow, and remove silt and vegetation from ditches for water quality and proper drainage. * May perform other duties as assigned. Certifications, Licenses or Other Requirements * Must be able to pass a TSA criminal background check * Obtain and maintain an airport issued ID based on a fingerprint based criminal history record check * Herbicide/Pesticide applicator license must be obtained within 6 months of hire Qualifications * Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in related field * Two (2) years operations experience required * Supervisory experience preferred * A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered * A valid Class C driver's license is required.
