Alex Franta takes over CFO duties for both Piano Media and Press+ after having gained extensive experience working for the past 15 years in corporate finance management and M&A. In addition to advising companies in M&A situations, Mr. Franta has taken on a number of CFO assignments helping companies with post-merger integration and with the development of internal corporate finance and administrative functions. He was a managing director of the Soravia Group's outdoor advertising business in CEE and a director in the group's equity investment business. Prior to his time at Soravia, he was at Deutsche Bank’s Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Advisory Group in New York. Mr. Franta has a business degree from the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Over 15 years experience managing strategy, digital strategy, business development and organizational change initiatives as a strategist at Piano (fomerly Tinypass) and Google and as a consultant to Fortune 100 companies, entertainment/media leaders and innovative social entrepreneurs at The Boston Consulting Group and The Cue Group.

I’m a broadly experienced marketer with expertise in developing marketing strategies, building and leading global teams and scaling cost-efficient growth, particularly for B2B SaaS companies.

In my five years as the CMO of Selligent Marketing Cloud, a global SaaS marketing automation platform for mid-market and enterprise brands, we grew 2.5X in revenue and expanded the marketing team from 5 to 30. I led demand generation, content development, analyst relations, product marketing, partner marketing, client marketing, events and built the brand.

Before Selligent, I co-founded and served as President and COO of pioneering digital agency Schematic, which we grew from inception to almost $50M in revenue and 450 staff when we merged with several other agencies to form Possible.

I have deep expertise as a marketing strategist and thought leader. I co-authored Marketing to the Entitled Consumer, published in 2018. I’ve advised dozens of companies and agencies on their marketing strategy and spoken at many marketing events across the US and Europe.

I’m an American who has spent the last eight years in the UK, and is looking for a return to the States or to remain in Europe.
