Starts system, observes operation, read gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system. * Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components. Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems. * Tests and repairs various systems and equipment using meters, schematics, drawings and manuals. * Install wiring to connect components to electric power source. * Attends daily safety toolbox meetings and is required to do job safety evaluations for each job. * Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met. * This position has no supervisory responsibilities. * Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
