Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. Expected Duties:
Work with the ND PF team and chapters, the ND Rx Fire Co-Op partners and other wildlife and fire management partners to identify and deliver prescribed fire outreach and training needs.
In consultation with private landowners, conduct site visits and assess burn units prior to burns to verify adherence to prescriptions, hazards, and minimize risk associated with prescribed fire operations.
Lead, coordinate, and participate in prescribed burns as training, demonstration, and treatments.
Write, review, and acquire permits for prescribed burn plans for private landowners, burn contractors, and biologists.
Support the development of landowner-led Prescribed Burn Associations (PBAs) to facilitate increased practice implementation.

You will gain exposure supporting water treatment systems and assist the organization in achieving its annual goals and objectives as an active participant.
This is a full-time, 12 week internship, with an anticipated start date in May 26, 2026.
Nature of work:
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
* Generate system drawings, PFDs, for use in on-site manuals and proposals
* Conduct wet testing in laboratory on water samples
* Actively monitor process equipment performance through online tools
* Assist in completing monthly reporting requirements
* Manage bulk chemical inventory and assist with ordering chemical products as required
* Perform field checks on process equipment (flows, pH, conductivity, chemical residuals, etc.)
* Work with supervisors on plant equipment optimization opportunities
Qualifications
Skills:
* Experience performing basic chemical tasks such as titrations, pH & conductivity measurements, and using other simple chemistry lab instruments
* Basic mechanical skills to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment
* Computer skills - use of Microsoft Office, Visio, and online data Management
* Strong teamwork & communication skills
* Ability to prioritize and maintain deliverables in a fast-paced work environment
Education:
This role is best suited for anyone currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) program (Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical) or a Chemistry Bachelor of Science (BSc) program. Consideration will also be given to other science-based technical programs and degrees.
