**About the Role:**
The Material Handler position at the Manawa location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
+ Operate standard and non-standard counterbalance lift equipment, turret truck lift equipment, pallet wrap equipment, weight scales, battery changing equipment, and other equipment as needed
+ Train for the use of warehouse management system including the operation of computers, scanners, and printers.
+ Support production lines by delivering production materials and moving finished product and scrap to the appropriate areas
This full-time role pays $23.24 per hour on our Yellow Days 2-2-3 shift in SSB. Hours are 5:00am-5:00pm.

THE POSITION

At the start of the packaging line, perform visual quality checks to identify and remove damaged product from the conveyor before packaging.
Place product in packaging pockets on the conveyor line.
After package is sealed, visually inspect to verify the label placement and code date are correct, and the package is sealed properly.
Identify and pull product improperly sealed, improperly labeled, improperly code dated, or damaged (leakers, cracks, etc.) from the conveyor for rework or disposal, placing product in the appropriate bins.
Remove product from packaging for rework or disposal as requested; log and move to tower or the stuffing room within the established time limit.
Applies sleeves to packages, either in-line during the production run or off-line as requested.
Set up labeler per the job specifications and maintain supply of labels for the production run.
Set up box erector to appropriate box dimensions per the operational parameters, and adjust as necessary.
Feed boxes into the box maker to ensure a steady flow of boxes to the packaging area of the line.
Place packaged product into boxes, ensuring the correct number of packages are placed into each case per the job specifications.
Monitor the box sealing process to ensure the boxes are taped and labeled appropriately.
Pick up packaged product fallen from the conveyor and sanitize as required.
Remove product from the metal detector rejection bin and re-enter it into the system.
Record rework product and move to cooler within the time limits allowed.
Assist with tear-down and set-up of packaging line components and equipment at changeovers, mid-week sanitation, and end of week.
Perform sanitation duties that include the following: sweep, mop and squeegee floors; wipe down equipment, foam cleaning and rinsing belts and conveyors; wash parts and walls; empty and clean bins and barrels; remove and dispose of all waste; assist with mopping and cleaning the stuffing room, coolers and/or the tower.

NOTE: Frequency and repetition of tasks listed below are based on a 12-hour shift. However, overtime opportunities exist.
Must follow instructions for safety and proper job performance; safety apparatus required: Ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves (all types) and other protective equipment as dictated by job function. Forklift and clamp truck certification.
Operate forklift and clamp trucks (Ability to get on and off the forklift numerous times per shift).
Sweep with broom and clean work area.

Must be able to communicate verbally through regular conversation and shouting (in loud environments) and using hand signals (as needed).

JOB OVERVIEW
The Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling Personnel is responsible for managing the flow of WIP parts and raw materials throughout the facility. This role requires collaboration, strong time management and the support of a clean, organized work environment while consistently following all safety protocols and procedures.
ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
Receive, unpack, verify, record, label and distribute incoming shipments of WIP, raw materials and items tied directly to a job; inspect for accuracy and damage.
Prepare outgoing shipments by ensuring accurate counts, proper labeling, packaging and documentation.
Move raw materials, WIP and any items tied directly to a job between work centers, staging areas and vendor locations.
Identify inventory items and allow inventory control specialist group to inventory and manage product.
Adhere to safe manufacturing and material handling practices, including LEAN and 6S initiatives.
Operate forklifts or other industrial equipment to move materials and ensure timely delivery to work centers.
Maintain accurate records using computer systems and manage related clerical tasks.
Coordinate material flow across departments and communicate discrepancies or needs effectively.
Collaborate with team members, demonstrate strong time management, and support a clean, organized work environment.
Perform duties indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Support additional production needs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: one - three years of relevant experience, ideally in shipping/receiving and ERP systems like Syteline/CSI.
Proficient with Windows-based computer systems.
Ability to safely operate a forklift in compliance with safety regulations.
Capable of reading and understanding sales orders, inventory records, and shipping/receiving documents.
