As a Material Handler for the White Stone Surfactants plant (SC), you will be responsible for all aspects of personal safety, product quality, and handling of inbound raw materials and outbound finished products. Common daily job tasks of the role include the following: receipt and unloading of raw materials, loading and shipping of finished product, operating a fork truck to transfer material, and performing housekeeping items. This role will work 14 out of 28 days in a 12-hour rotating shift.
This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
**During your 12-hour shift as a Material Handler, you will**
+ Load, and unload, tanks and rail cars and receipt of truck deliveries, in addition to performing collection of samples from tank cars and storage tanks.
+ Package, label, and transport product throughout the plant as needed.
+ Demonstrate proficiency at operating plant equipment, with minimal supervision, as well as use of computer systems to complete work assignments.
+ Participate in all required safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment when working in plant areas.
+ Perform housekeeping to maintain Logistics areas in a neat and orderly condition.

+ Have a High School Diploma or GED.
+ Have 6 months of manufacturing, production, assembly, operations, or industrial experience preferred. Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.

Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for receiving, verifying, and inspecting materials transferred from the warehouse for the plating process. Loader/unloaders are accountable for size and count verification, ensuring conformance to all specifications for the plating line, and for maintaining established production and quality standards. Essential Job Duties:
1. Use hand-held scanner to scan packages and move them from packline to shipping/banding area.
2. Match up Customer Orders for Palletization, verify work copies from Packline.
3. Ensure labels and label positioning are correct. Band boxes as necessary (determined by box size, type of shipment, etc.) by positioning boxes on in-line banding machine or hand-held banding machine, and activating banding cycle. Replace spools of banding on banding equipment when required.
4. Weigh product from pack line using appropriate weigh scales. Inspect boxes if weight does not agree with HU or similar boxes on the order.
5. Mark weight of box on top of box and delivery note.
6. Complete palletizing based on sub code, ship date, routing, and special instructions. Understand Packaging (PK) codes, product and what they mean - (i.e. knows Customer Critical Requirements)
7. Remove boxes from conveyer using Crane Hoist and place them on appropriate pallet.
8. Complete scanning for Advance Shipping Notices when required.
9. Move materials using appropriate equipment to and from conveyors, pallets, docks, storage areas and workstations, etc. as necessary. Performs utility functions in pack lines, including: preparing product and releasing product to banding operations.
10. Loads material onto carriers, being responsible for the even distribution of weight and for checking items loaded against work sheet or instructions provided.
11. Responsible for spotting trailers at the dock with the yard tractor.
12. Performs required duties such as filling out standard forms and keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Minimum Requirements:
* 18 years of age.
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Language Skills:
