Crown has a manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, KY. This state-of-the-art facility manufactures specialty beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies. We are adding to our world class team of individuals to operate this facility and are looking for Forklift Drivers.
Duties And Responsibilities:
This position will transport inventory and materials (both raw materials and finished goods) throughout both the operation floor and warehouse areas at this high-speed state-of-the-art metal packaging manufacturing facility.
Job Tasks for this position would include but not be limited to the following:
Complete S.A.F.E observations monthly - (1)
Ensure all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
Operate powered industrial trucks to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
Transport inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
Understand daily production schedule and corresponds with mgmt. leads, and coworkers accordingly
Perform visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality.
Monitor schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to supervisor.
Follow all SOP's (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling
Keep equipment and all areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping

Position Purpose:

Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock items according to next day's work orders. Rotates date-sensitive stock to the front of the rack and/or remove outdated out of date inventory according to company policy.
Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.

**Key Areas of Responsibility:**

Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout production while safely operating various machines. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective coordination with team members to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
Complete the Operator's Daily Checklist before using a forklift.
Verify that FRP, Aluminum, and THB routers have the materials needed to run.
Use Work Queue to prioritize jobs based on Start/Due dates.
Identify material needs for current and upcoming jobs and stage materials accordingly.
Print Job Travelers and review material requirements, ensuring the correct material type (e.g., DOT vs. non-DOT).
Use Epicor Part Tracker to verify material availability and location. If material is missing, notify the Team Lead.
Material Staging & Issuing:
Aluminum: Locate the correct material and stage it.
FRP: Move materials to designated shelves (FRP-1 or FRP-2) and issue them in Epicor before staging on a cart.
THB: Stage materials on a cart in the THB-1 bin and issue them in Epicor before use.
Return leftover material to its original location and update Epicor using the Return Material function.
Operate all equipment safely.
Set up and operate routers.
Work in any area as needed based on customer demand.
Perform quality checks and make adjustments to meet quality standards.
Follow and read the production schedule and job travelers.
Report production data accurately in Epicor.
Band and pack finished products.
Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in all work cells.
Coordinate with the production scheduler and programmer to meet fulfillment goals.
Personal Attributes and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Critical thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to follow written instructions and have legible handwriting.
Must be capable of lifting and handling large heavy loads. (Up to 60 lbs.)
Must be detail oriented.
Must be a qualified Forklift certified or willingness to become certified.
Work Environment
Exposure to a manufacturing environment with coatings, wood dust, noise, and moving equipment.
Requires frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and prolonged standing throughout the shift.
