Job Description The Distribution Associate understands and executes distribution tasks with an elevated sense of urgency, is a strong communicator in both verbal and written formats and is technologically savvy. The associate will operate material movement equipment such as a forklift, to fulfill the logistics of receiving, processing, and storing facilities inventory. This associate has an in-depth knowledge of distribution and a keen eye for detail. The Distribution Associate is committed to delivering the California Closets Brand Experience through supporting and participating in a healthy, cohesive, and productive environment. Ensures safe and quality work practices and adherence to site policies/procedures. Pay rate: $22-$24 per hour Schedule: 1st Shift (7am-4pm / 6am-3pm) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receiving Processing: Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments, inspecting for damage, and organizing items into designated storage areas. Receives and processes all incoming products into the warehouse and processes using handheld scanners or PC based software. Compare identifying information, quality checks and measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, picking tickets, invoices, orders, or other records. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with Manager to rectify damages or discrepancies. Inventory Management Coordinates with Distribution Manager and participates in Daily Cycle Counting process and full physical inventories. Ensures all inventory adjustments are reconciled daily. Moves overstock to primary location and breaks down boxes for recycling daily or as needed. Resolve PO issues, negative on hands and/or any other inventory discrepancies that arise. Order Fulfillment Pick items from inventory based on customer orders using carts, pallet jacks, and/or forklift utilizing handheld scanners Verify orders prior to shipping for accuracy and quality using handheld scanner or PC based software. Pack orders securely and prepare for shipment. Warehouse Maintenance Inspect the forklift at the beginning of each shift. Organizes, cleans, and maintains warehouse facilities as assigned. Other Safely operates forklift and other material movement equipment Participates and abides by warehouse and company-wide safety trainings. Participates and follows Standard Operating Procedures as they relate to Distribution Associate position. Safeguard operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols Other duties may be assigned as necessary Qualifications High school diploma and/or GED Associates Degree related to from an accredited college or university preferred 2-4 years of experience in a distribution or warehouse role Experience in supporting supply chain demands Ability to calculate invoice and shipping totals as requested Ability to accurately count inventory Must possess an unwavering commitment to foster a safe and event-free work environment Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and exercise independent thought to challenges and improve the status quo.
