Captain Lyle Hogg began his career in aviation as a regional airline pilot for Pilgrim Airlines in 1981 flying the deHavilland Twin Otter (Dash-6), a predecessor of the Dash-8. He was hired as a pilot in 1984 and quickly moved through the pilot management ranks. In 1996, he was named assistant chief pilot at US Airways’ Washington D.C./Dulles crew base, and in 2005 became managing director, flight operations overseeing all pilot domiciles and more than 4,000 pilots.

Most recently, Lyle served as vice president, flight operations for US Airways, overseeing the flight technical operations and flight training groups, maintaining the airline’s operations specifications and overseeing operations compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration requirements. He was instrumental in the success of US Airways and American Airlines achieving a single operating certificate. He also has extensive experience working with outside constituents such as the NTSB, FAA and aircraft manufacturers, among others. Lyle joined Piedmont in June of 2015.

Interesting facts about Lyle: Lyle was born in Canada and became a U.S. citizen in 2014. He recently took up sailing and now spends breezy weekends exploring the waterways of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
