Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None
6 months as an MRITechnologists preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Under the direction of the radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, the MR Technologist is responsible for the performance of high-quality diagnostic images utilizing proper techniques and established protocols. This person utilizes independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for accurate diagnosis. This position demonstrates competencies in identification of pathology, MR physics, patient positioning, MR safety, 3-D reconstruction, contrast injections, IV access, and new protocols. **Description**
+ Operates MRI, power injector and other medical equipment to produce diagnostic scans in the MRI suite.
+ May participate in more complex procedures.
+ Provides quality care to the patients receiving MRI, diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Coordinates in supervisor's absence.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
