    Responsibilities RESPONSIBLE FOR: Coordinates critical care services for the intensive care units in each facility for the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine division. This position works collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice providers in a designated medical specialty to establish and support the delivery of best practice care across Piedmont's inpatient settings. Collaborates with physician, nursing, respiratory and other professional staff in the creation of integrated improvement teams to review performance, develop new processes that support high quality/cost effective care, and align efforts of front line workers with the organization's goals. Participates in educational activities at the local, state, and national level; supports research initiatives; participates in support group activities; and represents Piedmont Physicians Group at national conferences. Responsible for nurturing existing services with referring physicians and developing new relationships to facilitate growth. Responsible for monitoring trends in the delivery of designated medical specialty and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with current clinical standards, regulatory standards, safety standards, and infection control practices. Participates in the establishment of policies and practices that promote a learning climate where personnel are encouraged to improve and enhance their professional, technical, and psychosocial skills. May provide limited assistance to physicians and advanced practice providers in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, patient education, and/or referral to support services as needed. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor?s Degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five (5) years of experience working in a medical practice, hospital or other health care setting.
