Basic Functions and Responsibilities * Provide instruction middle school students in an alternative setting. * Supports student behavioral needs, as necessary. * Keep principal informed of potential problems or unusual situations. * Handle routine discipline referrals and refer serious situations to Principal. * Contact parents as needed and participate in parent conferences. * Communicate with Principal related to discipline referrals. * Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. * Model and maintain high ethical standards. * Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. * Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner. * Demonstrate support for school, its goals, and objectives. * Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to the position. * Other duties as assigned. Middle School Teaching Positions/English Language Learners (ELL) Teacher Date Available: 01/06/2025 English Language Learner Teacher Grades K-9 * Provides supplemental English Language Development instruction to grade K-5 LEP level 1-3 students * Provides appropriate instruction to LEP level 1-4 students to make progress in English Language Proficiency standards and/or grade level standards * Provides additional support and small-group ELD instruction to LEP Level 1-4 students to achieve proficiency of grade level standards * Provides ELL resource and/or small group instruction to LEP level 4 students who have not passed or are at-risk for not passing ISTEP+ * Collaborates with general education staff, ELL staff, and school administration on LEP student progress and achievement data * Monitors students' progress and provides support to LEP students who are failing to meet ELP or grade level proficiency standards * Monitors student progress and provides support and additional instruction to students using Rosetta Stone Classroom and other technology based English Language Development programs that are used to supplement ELD instruction at the elementary level * Consults with school administrators and district staff to determine effectiveness of Rosetta Stone Classroom which is being used to supplement ELD instruction to LEP levels 1-3 students in grades 2-5 * Other duties and activities related to LEP students deemed supplemental, appropriate, and necessary for student success
