MGNet, a NIH-funded Rare Diseases Clinical Research Consortium (RDCRC) in partnership with the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, Myasthenia Gravis Association, Conquer MG and unrestricted support from argenx, is seeking proposals for highly innovative investigations in early stages of development. The priorities of the Pilot Grant Program are:
Assess clinical measures and improve that enhance clinical trial readiness
Evaluation of therapeutic interventions for one or more of the five distinct sub-types of MG.
Pilot studies may access resources of MGNet, including the MGNet biorepository, statistical and immunology core, and extensive clinical experience of MGNet investigators. Research must fulfill the definition of clinical and translational research. Animal studies are not permitted.
Funding
The MGNet expects to fund one grant at a level of $75,000 (no more than an additional $20,000 will be available for indirect costs). Projects will be funded for 12 months, with a start date of March 1, 2026. Selection among the applications received will be based on the recommendations of the MGNet Research Review Committee. A grant may be renewed for an additional one year with approval of an interim report and competitive review with new applications. Demonstration of fulfillment of initial aims and justification for additional funding will be required.
The PI must hold an MD, PhD, MD/PhD, RN, or more advanced, PharmD, DDS, DVM, or equivalent and be a faculty member at a US-based academic institution.

Basic Qualifications

Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, supports the ground and flight operations of an Unmanned Aircraft System during stateside and overseas operations. Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and the success of mission objectives, the pilot will be a cross-functional member of a two-man team, functioning as either the Pilot-in-Command or Flight Engineer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform flight operation planning in support of customer-driven requirements.
Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety checks.
Remote pilot a UAS, following a specific flight plan or modifying flight plans to meet mission objectives.
Assist flight operation planning in support of customer-driven requirements.
Support flight operations outside the continental United States for up to six (6) months at a time, or as mutually agreed upon.
Conduct flight demonstrations for customers at remote locations.
Assist team with furthering and refining training curriculum, documentation, and standardization materials.
Troubleshoot equipment issues to maximize mission readiness rates.
Ensure compliance with all FAA/ host nation / customer regulations as applicable.
Perform other duties as necessary.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS LEVEL II:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
2-5 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 500 hours of flight experience as a Pilot in Command.
Must currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret level security clearance.
Able to obtain FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
Up to 100% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
Position is contingent on the ability to pass required flight and deployment physicals.
Expert knowledge and extensive experience with Piccolo or Quattro flight controllers.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS LEVEL III:

5-7 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 500 hours of flight experience as a Pilot in Command.
