About the role
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Pilot Plant Technologist to support Kerry's drying optimization initiatives, with a strong focus on spray drying. This role will collaborate across RD&A, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to enhance process performance, support innovation, and ensure product quality. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food science and technology, with a strong ability to operate complex equipment and contribute to process development.
Key responsibilities
Drying Process Support
Assist in pilot plant production runs focused on drying and related processes.
Follow standardized procedures and best practices.
Weigh ingredients and prepare materials for pilot runs.
Submit and support analytical testing requests.
Process Development & Equipment Training
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Support training efforts for pilot plant equipment.
Facilities & Equipment Support
Collaborate with scientists, contractors, and facilities teams.
Assist with troubleshooting, validation testing, and equipment commissioning.
Communicate updates and findings to relevant stakeholders.
Pilot Plant Organization
Maintain inventory of consumables and materials.
Support room owner in maintaining a clean and organized space.
Specialized Equipment Operation
Learn and operate lab equipment such as Brookfield viscometer, pH probe, and homogenizer.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred; experience in chemicals, flavors, or food products is a plus.
Strong communication skills-both verbal and written.
Hands-on experience with complex equipment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

The pay range for this position is 41,446.00 - 67,209.00 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking qualified candidates for a Citation XLS aircraft based in Wheeling IL at PWK airport. This is a three-pilot account supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician flying part 91 and part 135.
This is not a commutable position and requires residing within driving distance to PWK Airport.
The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds final responsibility to ensure aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant and efficient manner. The PIC complies with all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight:
* Ensures crewing and trip assignments are compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
* Completes flight planning, performance and weight and balance tasks for each assignment, as required.
* Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
* Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
* Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including the maintenance status of the aircraft, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
* Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
* Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and meet any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
* Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate with crew and support personnel clearly and in a timely manner during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
* Provides quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
* Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges in an acceptable manner.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance:
* Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.

GS-2181-13 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,000 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Flight Instructor):
Applicant must possess two years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the U.S. military establishment in assignments that normally would qualify for progression into the position of Wing Operations and Training Officer or its equivalent.
AND
Must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,200 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
