You will be essential in fostering student retention, well-being, and achievement by addressing academic, personal, and systemic barriers. Key Responsibilities: * Student Case Management & Advising: Proactively monitor student attendance and academic progress. Provide one-on-one advising to guide students through challenges, develop success plans, and connect them with internal and community resources. * Crisis Intervention & Support: Serve as a first point of contact for students facing personal, behavioral, or academic crises. Employ de-escalation techniques and professional judgment to manage sensitive situations, including leaves of absence, withdrawals, and disciplinary actions. * Resource Coordination & Advocacy: Act as a liaison between students and campus departments (Financial Aid, Admissions, Career Services) to resolve issues and advocate for student needs. Maintain knowledge of and referrals to external support services. * Program Development & Community Building: Plan and execute student engagement activities, orientation programs, recognition events, and graduation ceremonies to promote a positive and inclusive campus culture. * Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate tracking of student interactions and status changes. Serve as a knowledgeable resource on institutional policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements. Who We Are Looking For (Required Qualifications): * A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in a student-facing support role. This experience could come from: * Higher Education: Academic Advising, TRIO Programs, Disability Services, or Student Affairs. * Social Services/Youth Development: Case Management, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or Youth Advocacy. * Proven skills in active listening, motivational interviewing, crisis management, and holistic assessment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse student population. * Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and student database systems. * High school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field is strongly preferred. Ideal Candidate (Preferred Qualifications): * Professional experience as a Behavioral Therapist, School Counselor, Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Mental Health Counselor, or Case Manager. * Experience working with non-traditional, first-generation, or at-risk student populations. * Bilingual skills are a plus. * Supervisory or leadership experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students, including scheduled activities and materials for semesters. Assess curriculum and provide input based on professional expectations and contemporary expertise. Participate in developing processes and procedures to ensure students' readiness and safety before their clinical education experience. Participate in continuing education courses to acquire and improve knowledge in teaching methodologies, adult learning, and creating practical learning experiences. Participate in PMI service and professional service events. Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum. Monitor students' attendance in the program and coordinate with Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row. Prepare attendance reports weekly for the office management department. Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program. Maintain student grades by established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts. Evaluate students' performance regarding achievements in curriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs. Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and visits to therapy clinics. Prepare lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually. Assist and advise students with Physical Therapist Assistant program curriculum. May assist and coordinate externships for Physical Therapist Assistant students. Participates in projects to assist in meeting department goals determined by the Program Director. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapy program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A baccalaureate degree is preferred. Three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent, post-licensure clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist. Documented contemporary expertise in teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method. One (1) year of documented experience as an instructor in a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapy program preferred. Physical therapist or physical therapist assistant licensed, registered, or certified according to regulations in the state where the program is located. A physical therapist or physical therapist assistant may hold a license, registration, or certification from any U.S. jurisdiction unless otherwise indicated in the state practice act where the program is located. Student Services & Academic Support Collaborate with the Student Services Coordinator to advise students on academic, attendance, and program-related concerns. Lead the appeal process for students seeking program re-enrollment, coordinating committees and communicating outcomes.
