What will you do as a PMC Nurse (LPN/RN)
As a PMC nurse (LPN), you will provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, and provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The functions of the LPN/RN are to collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. Performs professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization.
A day in the life of a PMC Nurse (LPN/RN) will include:
Works within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education including procedures and/or disease processes.
Obtains, reviews, verifies and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate. .
Help maintain patient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.
Recognizes patient rights and provides for confidentiality of patient information and for dignity through own performance and in relationship with others.
Collaborates with other disciplines; promotes and supports research activities; and utilizes available resources to provide and improve patient care.
Participates in medical staff meetings as required.
Participates in quality improvement team efforts, including meetings to discuss quality assurance improvement initiatives.
Observes patients and reports changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and takes any necessary action.
Measures and records patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Identifies and/or communicates any safety issues for the clinical equipment, building, follows-up to ensure completion.
Assists physicians with examination and procedures as necessary.
Maintains patient areas and working spaces in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Monitors use of supplies/medications; restocks as necessary and informs appropriate persons of needs for additional supplies.
This position may be assigned to special projects or accountabilities when other priorities are identified.
Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications
Licensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina Required
BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS/PALS is required in specialty areas as determined by accrediting bodies (Cardiology, Infusion, Rheumatology Infusion, CT & GI Endo)

Your Role
After completing a 14-week training and mentorship program, you will:
Deliver evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health counseling
Perform administrative tasks such as clinic opening/closing, inventory, insurance verification, and payment collection
Conduct routine exams and diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Promote preventive care and wellness through screenings, chronic condition management, and behavioral health support
Required Qualifications
NP/PA with less than 12 months of clinical experience
Active and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license

Participate in the rotating APP orthopedic practice call and ED call schedule

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Physician Assistant. Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master's Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Three years of relative experience and/or surgical background preferred.
