Benefits Hourly Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO) Flexible Schedule Health Insurance Hands on Training Career Growth Opportunities Responsibilities A veterinary assistant is a member of our team who supports and assists the doctors each day to ensure the best possible care for our patients and clients. This means that you will be responsible for: Compassionately handling patients in our care Speaking to clients in a friendly, helpful manner to answer questions, acquire histories, etc. Assisting in surgeries and advanced imaging procedures Anesthetic monitoring and maintenance for surgeries and imaging Providing safe restraint for patients during examinations and procedures Implementing appropriate animal husbandry skills to decrease disease spread, injury and stress to patients Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, etc. (this is a skill we can teach) Calculating medication and fluid doses for administration to hospitalized patients Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance Performing routine dental cleanings Proactively assisting with other areas of service during downtime or as directed by the manager Our veterinary assistants are in the office 36-40 hours per week with 2-3 days off weekly and no required after-hour emergency work. (We are open to a part-time or flexible schedule if needed) With our powerful team-driven bonus system, you are empowered to influence personal revenue over and above base pay.
