Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. company history timeline

1985

By December 1985, it had a dozen turboprops, including two 33-seat Saab 340s, flying to ten cities.

1986

1986: The airline begins flying for Northwest.

1993

The airline suffered its first disaster when one of its turboprops crashed on December 1, 1993, killing 18 people.

1995

Revenues were about $150 million in 1995, when more than 1.5 million passengers were carried.

1997

The Minneapolis-St Paul operation was transferred to sister Airlink carrier Mesaba Airlines, while the corporate headquarters were relocated from Atlanta to the Memphis base of operations in August 1997.

Acquisition by Northwest: 1997

2002

Pinnacle Airlines Corporation was created in January 2002 to hold the airline, which would be renamed Pinnacle Airlines, Inc.

2003

In November 2003, Pinnacle Airlines Corporation became a publicly traded company, using the ticker symbol PNCL on NASDAQ.

2004

Earnings were up 16 percent to $40.7 million on revenues of $635.5 million in 2004.

2005

2005: Pinnacle is ranked as the world's fastest-growing airline.

2007

In 2007, Pinnacle acquired Colgan Air, which continued to operate independently of Pinnacle Airlines, Inc.

2010

On July 1, 2010, Delta Air Lines sold Mesaba Airlines to Pinnacle in a $62 million transaction.

2012

On 1 April 2012, Pinnacle Airlines Corporation and subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

2013

The company's main airline, Pinnacle Airlines, Inc., was renamed to Endeavor Air on August 1st, 2013 and the holding company ceased to exist.

2018

On September 27, 2018, former Pinnacle Airlines CEO Philip Trenary was shot dead in Memphis.
