The Pediatric Primary Care Physician will be responsible for conducting routine health examinations, preventive visits, and chronic and acute illness management. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides primary medical care for a dedicated panel of patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness according to evidence-based standards.
Obtains clinical histories, conducts appropriate physical examinations and assessments, orders diagnostic testing and formulates treatment plans.
Conducts routine health examinations, screenings and evaluations and makes recommendations for preventive health measures and screening tests as appropriate.
Delivers age-appropriate anticipatory guidance.
Orders and is responsible for the dispensing and administration of certain medications and immunizations on-site.
Documents appropriate clinical information in the electronic health record in a timely manner and completing billing per CMG policy.
Reviews documents including outside records and consultant reports and summarizes information in the medical record.
Determines need for additional services including but not limited to nursing, care coordination, social services, health education, and referral for specialty care.
Participates in regular multidisciplinary clinical team meetings and assists in the coordination of care in a team-based setting.
Refers patients to hospitals for emergency care and admission when needed and communicates with hospital staff as appropriate.
Uses and promotes evidence-based clinical practice.
Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention.
Consults with Medical Director and other medical professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.

Position Summary:
This employee functions as a family medicine physician and operates a family medicine clinic owned by WMC. In addition to their duties within that hospital owned medical practice, the physician also has other clinical and administrative duties within the hospital.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
MD or DO Degree
Appropriate Board Certification
Workplace Experience:
At least three years of independent medical practice experience
At least three years of management experience
Equipment and Skills Training:
Appropriate skills and training expected for a private physician within the specialty of family medicine.
Good computer skills.

Key Results:

Organizes and evaluates the clinic's work process and work flow, both inpatient and outpatient.

Tracks clinic budget for salary, capital expenditures, and other operating expenses in conjunction with Physician Practice Manager
Participates in medical staff meetings and activities.

What You Will Do
