GENERAL SUMMARY
The Staff Pharmacist is front and center as an integral part of patient-centric health care at Meeker Drugs at PMC. Pioneers Medical Center is focused on improving health outcomes for patients. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provides accurate, efficient, and appropriate pharmaceutical care services to patients by properly interpreting prescribers' medication orders.
Reviews patient medical and pharmaceutical records to monitor for efficient drug therapy, drug interactions, potential adverse drug events, contraindications, and allergies.
Communicates directly with both prescribers and patients regarding questions concerning drug therapy and counseling points.
Maintains an accurate on-hand inventory count for medications.
Abides by record-keeping requirements defined by law, DEA, and the Board of Pharmacy.
Maintain and supervise effective workflow to ensure the cleanliness of the department and the accuracy of medication order interpretation and prescription dispensing.
Obtains and maintains current certification required by the department to ensure abilities to deliver specialized services, such as Basic Life Support, Body Substance Control Measures, Hazardous Substance Procedures, Mass Casualty Plan, etc.
Develops and demonstrates a commitment to the self-directed development of clinical pharmacy practice under guidelines of the departmental staff development programs through the identification of personal education goals and objectives.
Maintains current knowledge of State and Federal statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents; conducts personal practice as defined by those requirements.
Abides by all rules of the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
Maintains active Colorado State Pharmacist license.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The ability to initiate interpretive skills when required to communicate effectively with non-English speakers and the hearing impaired.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A degree in Pharmacy and State licensure to practice pharmacy and to dispense controlled substances; authorized or qualified for authorization as a preceptor of student interns in Pharmacy as described by the State Board of Pharmacy.
It is preferred that all incumbents possess an advanced degree (PharmD or MS) or equivalent clinical practice experience. Completion of a general or specialized residency is also preferred. Authorization to be a preceptor requires two years of practice as a Pharmacist.

The Executive Chef is responsible for menu and recipe design, food production, all catering needs, the aesthetic appearance of food, quality, presentation and specifications of all ordered food, and the leadership of all appropriate staff to ensure the best performance of the facility culinary program.
Essential Functions
Provides professional culinary advice/expertise for all activities associated with production of food in the department. This position trains, develops and coordinates culinary activities for all production staff.
Plans (in coordination with Food & Nutrition Director) all new retail concepts for department. Designs retail menus and produces reports to support all retail activity to achieve maximum revenue.
Establishes quality control standards in food production area. Determines ingredients, standardizes and scales recipes and approves final preparation of each menu item. Recommends department standard operating procedures in terms of purchasing and inventory management and for meeting all regulatory agency requirements.
Provides direction for all personnel activities in production areas including hiring, selection, orientation, training and culinary skill development. Responsible for coaching, documentation of training, competencies, evaluations and discipline. Provides proper training on all necessary equipment (including documentation) with strong emphasis on safety.
Researches, collects and produces data to justify current retail, patient and resident menu decisions including retail revenue and expense information, FTE requirements and operations budgets. Must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of recipe costing, pricing along with recipe menu-mix decisions.
Responsible for sanitary practices and methods in production area and for quality standards including portion/temperature/waste control and the department's HACCP system.
Researches, develops specifications and instructs staff on recipe production to meet budget.
Interacts with all varieties of customers including physicians, facility leadership, culinary and hospital staff, volunteers and visitors to exceed their needs and resolve concerns with positive outcomes.
Responsible for department management in absence of Director.

Education and Experience
Four-year specialized degree from an accredited culinary program required.

6. Provides hygienic care, including bed bath/shower, hair care, oral care, peri care, bed linen changes, back rubs, etc throughout shift and as directed. Documents care.
7. Prepares patients for meals, assists or feeds patients, distributes water and snacks to patients.
8. Accurately tallies and records intake and output.
9. Assists with patient care in the emergency room as directed by the nurse and/or physician.
10. Immediately reports any change in patient condition or behavior to the nurse.
11. Applies siderails, restraints and other safety measures according to standard and as directed by nurse.
12. Applies bandages, antiembolic stockings, K-pads, according to standard and as directed.
13. With training, assist in setting up and maintaining oxygen therapy equipment. Reports any problems to nurse.
14. When necessary, monitors floor and calls for assistance as needed. Pages Ancillary departments as directed.
15. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Readily adapts to function in both the acute care setting and the long-term care setting according to patient care needs.
16. Adheres to the standards and policies of the corporate compliance program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulation, and report to a designated manager (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices
17. Adheres to the safety guidelines as outlined by the facility and reports unsafe equipment, areas, practices, etc., as required by policy.
