Install and maintain steam and hot water heating systems, high pressure steam line, sprinkler systems and piping systems for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, etc., including pump and collectors. Cut threads, bend, file, burr, ream and install pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, etc. Work with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other types of metal piping, valves, traps and vessels. Use all types of pipe fitters, tools including taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hacksaws, drills, benders, etc. Lay out, install and repair all plant plumbing systems, including toilets, showers and drinking fountains, according to underwriters and municipal standards. Locate, diagnose and correct plumbing troubles. May be required to handle/manage hazardous waste from time to time. Requirements: Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must have completed an apprenticeship program or have 8 years of documented experience in the trade.
