Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor all equipment to ensure flawless production of high-quality juice products
Start up, operate, and shut down processing equipment and systems.
Follow strict manufacturing procedures and adhere to safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure all products meet the company's standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine optimal juice blending processes and successfully implement improvements
Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Work with other operators in the area to ensure all ingredients are on the line as needed.
Coordinate with team to cover crewing gaps, vacations, and call offs.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate with maintenance to have issues fixed.
Continuously strive for excellence and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Maintains good housekeeping
Ensures compliance with company policies and producers
Performs all other duties assigned

The Operator will set up and operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This position will control and adjust equipment settings per operating procedures to meet quality and process safety specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions.
Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients according to specifications.
Track and record process information and production data.
Perform basic laboratory tests which may include viscosity, Karl Fisher, GC, pH, glycol, alkalinity, and others as requested.
Clean and prepare equipment, as required, for maintenance.
Draw samples of products as specified stages so that analyses can be performed.
Load and unload material containers such as tank cars, tank trucks, drums, and totes.
Maintain plant housekeeping in specifically assigned areas and elsewhere as requested.
Set up equipment for production by operating valves and pumps, and insuring line-ups are correct without internal or external leaks.
Complete equipment log sheets as requested.
Operate heavy equipment, including a forklift, man lift, and crane.
Perform routine plant surveillance to report and correct, if possible, any abnormal situations.
Complete and maintain all level one required training and certification.
Observe all company policies.
Observe all safety policies and procedures. Participate in plant safety processes and immediately report any unsafe conditions.
Remain current on the requirements of the QMS and ensure that your actions support the Company Quality Policy towards continual improvement.
Maintain familiarity of the safe handling, environmental regulations, and emergency response for all materials in your area.

Become familiar with all pertinent SOP's and departmental manuals and demonstrate ability to perform chemical operator duties.
Develop working knowledge of the setup, operation and cleanup of chemical process equipment; and demonstrate competency in operating assigned vessels in the Pay and Progression path.
Become knowledgeable of required paperwork flow, product flow and terminology used in each new production assignment.
Learn to properly identify and safely demonstrate how to disassemble, clean, reassemble all process filters utilized in commercial production processes as directed by supervisors.
Responsible for process paperwork including SAP, Excel and Label-printing computer system.
Maintain assigned work station(s) in a neat and orderly fashion with minimal supervision.
Maintain proficiency in proper sampling, weighing and labeling procedures and demonstrate the ability to keep all containers properly identified and labeled at all times.
Maintain proficiency in the operation of the following heating and cooling systems, including location of control switches, valves and regulators: City water Tower water Glycol cooling Steam boiler Hot oil heating.
Read and understand all written procedures contained in Chemical Process Documents.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Utility Operator to support operations at the several Asphalt plants througout our company. Your primary home plant will be located in Bladensburg, MD. This position will be responsible for operating and configuring a Front End Loader and other equipment as assigned. Also ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Load Aggregate and Recycled Asphalt (RAP) into Cold Feed Bins
+ Operate the front-end loader to load raw materials (sand, stone, RAP, and other aggregates) into the cold feed bins that supply the asphalt plant.
+ Maintain consistent feed levels to support continuous and efficient asphalt production.
+ Maintain Stockpiles and Material Quality: Build and manage clean, well-organized stockpiles of aggregates and RAP to prevent cross-contamination.
+ Ensure proper blending of materials according to the plant operator's mix specifications.
+ Support Asphalt Production Process: Work closely with the plant operator to keep materials flowing to the dryer drum and mixing system.
+ Monitor material levels in bins, conveyors, and surge silos to prevent downtime or overloading.
+ Equipment Inspection and Routine Maintenance: Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections (fluids, tires, hydraulics, bucket, lights).
+ Clean and grease equipment regularly; report mechanical issues immediately to maintenance.
+ Load trucks with finished asphalt mix or other materials safely and accurately when needed.
+ Move raw materials between plant areas (RAP piles, stockpiles, recycle bins, etc.) as directed.
+ Site Safety and Environmental Compliance: Follow MSHA/OSHA and company safety protocols, including PPE, communication signals, and safe equipment operation.
+ Prevent spills, track-out, and dust emissions; help maintain a clean and environmentally compliant worksite.
