Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the performance of all field construction activities for assigned craft areas in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. This requires a working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to appreciate and resolve complex situations with assistance, and see actions as a series of steps. Initially involving the direction of craftsmen in multiple crafts, the role gains a proficiency to direct other line supervision as necessary in their roles to meet or exceed all project objectives. This position requires the ability to coordinate and direct construction craftsmen in numerous crafts within the assigned area of responsibility. This position is typically responsible for numerous crafts, multiple areas, and/or large numbers of craftsmen; and may include coordination of other contractors/subcontractors.

• Plan and direct the work activities of all involved crafts for assigned construction crafts in alignment with available engineering deliverables, tools, construction equipment, and materials

• Approve or authorize the coordination of craft personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules

• Directly support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities

• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action

• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

**Responsibilities**

• Supervises union craft labor in Piping disciplines. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity and schedule adherence.

• Ensures effective liaison between field engineering and craft.

• Interfaces effectively with craft Foremen and General Foremen, as well as project management to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.

• Coordination with discipline Superintendents

• Coordination with Subcontractors

• Coordination with Owner and their representatives

• Resolves employee conflicts and grievances, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.

• Responsible for detailed work planning.

• Responsible for work plan and work package development and reviews

• Responsible for preparing and maintaining 30-, 60- and 90-day schedules.

• Responsible for building 3-week schedules and communicating them effectively in weekly scheduling meetings.

• Understand the project contract requirements

• Evaluate and manage craft productivity using a commodity/productivity tracking software.

• Determining craft labor levels and tool/equipment requirements.

• Ensures that project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards.

**Qualifications**

• Ability to travel and relocate as needed. Our Superintendents go where the work/project is!

• 5+ years' work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role. Long tenure with companies is important. We are willing to consider Forman or General Forman ready for the next step in their career.

• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and other documents

• Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance including labor cost planning and budgeting

• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

**Job Summary**

Interfacing with and monitoring direct hire supervision and/or major subcontractor supervision and field engineering. Ensures project requirements and expectations are met with regards to craft and supervisory performance, direct hire craft productivity and performance and/or reporting on Subcontractors performance. Ensures adherence by all discipline craft and Subcontractors to safety, quality, schedule and performance expectations as defined by Black and Veatch. Provides craft supervisors with information and technical direction required to complete project safely, timely and in a quality manner. **Key Responsibilities**

+ Assists the Construction Manager in ensuring complete adherence by all site supervision and craft to the Black and Veatch Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned and Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, and Guides

+ Is responsible for reporting inappropriate conduct by any site personnel to the site Construction manager and the project Safety manager

+ Monitors, verifies and reports on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule; tracks and reports on completion of project schedule activities and commodity installation

+ Assists craft/subcontractors/superintendents in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety

+ Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Construction Manager and Field Project Controls Manager

**Minimum Qualifications**

8+ years experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects. Valid Driver's License. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

**Certifications**

OSHA 10 certification.
