Ground was broken for a high school in 1950 and construction began.
When it opened in 1952, it housed classrooms for students in fifth through twelfth grades with the remainder of the enrollment of 849 students in classrooms at Lincoln Avenue School.
Thirty-five acres of the Vernon Plain Farm on Mendon Center Road was purchased in 1958 for the erection of a junior high school—school building number six in Pittsford Central School District.
In preparation for building to provide for rapidly expanding enrollments, the Pittsford Board of Education had purchased a 15-acre site on property in the Powder Mill Park Road area in January 1960.
The 2002 revitalization project approved by school district voters provided the school with additional main entry security, library renovations and expansion, cafeteria dehumidification, replacement of certain lighting, windows and doors, and provided handicapped accessibility in the health office.
Recent improvements under the 2002 revitalization plan approved by voters included the addition of four new classrooms and additional storage space.
The most recent in additions and improvements to Allen Creek Elementary School were completed in 2005 and cost $2.9 million.
Allen Creek Elementary School—the oldest building in the District and the third school to become a part of the Pittsford School District—celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2010.
