PLAINFIELD COUNTRY CLUB history

Leighton Calkins, club president, mayor of Plainfield, and MGA president, was instrumental in bringing the first three Met Junior championships (1912-14) to Plainfield.

The main course was designed in 1916 by Donald Ross.

The private course opened in 1921 following a construction interruption because of World War I

The first significant change to the course came in 1930, when the Ross-designed "Tunnel" holes (13, 14, and 15) were built through virgin forest, replacing holes that ran between the clubhouse and Raritan Road.

Pauley has embraced everything about holding a desirable job for 16 years and his office includes framed personal and Plainfield pictures, including a 1931 course aerial that Hanse uses to guide architectural decisions.

The sub-species was declared extinct in 1995 and that sighting marked the first time anywhere in the world that a juvenile Steppe Whimbrel had been seen in field.

A professional since 2000, Stanford has won seven LPGA tournaments and competed in more than 80 major championships.

Master developer Tourism Development and Investment Company began its Hawksbill Turtle Conservation Program — the only one of its kind in the Arabian Gulf — in early 2010.

Before assuming his present post in 2015, he handled PGA Tour events at Doral and PGA National.

Plainfield Country Club has purchased three GPS-guided sprayers since 2018: a pair of Toro Multi-Pro 1750 with GeoLink and a 300-gallon Toro Multi-Pro 5800 with GeoLink for fairways.
