Chris Rondeau has served as our Chief Executive Officer since January 2013. He previously served as our Chief Operating Officer since 2003. Mr. Rondeau joined Planet Fitness in 1993, one year after our original founders, Michael and Marc Grondahl, started the Company in 1992. Throughout the years, he has played a critical role, working side by side with them to develop and refine the unique, low-cost/high-value business model and lean operating system that we believe revolutionized both the fitness and franchising industry. An innovative entrepreneur, Mr. Rondeau was honored as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year in New England in 2016.

Pros of working at Planet Fitness

The benefits and coworkers are nice. Management and members are not.

Cons of working at Planet Fitness

upper management is consistently more concerned with with appearances rather than function. I was berated and denied a promotion because I sat down at the front desk. I had performed all my necessary duties, the gym was clean, and I suffer from knee issues. Management did not care and i received a written warning because I sat down.

What I liked about being apart of Planet Fitness was being able to interact with customers regularly, by doing so, I was able to improve my communication skills.

Cons of working at Planet Fitness

My hours weren’t fairly flexible which caused inconsistency with my schedule.
