Provides leadership with training where needed, establishes guidelines for quality monitoring in conjunction with the Director of Quality. Responsible for management of Medical and Quality Committee functions, including agenda preparation, minutes preparation, follow up issues, etc. Accountable for establishing, contributing, and implementation of standards applicable to medical staff members relating to performance improvement and administrative functions, including performance evaluations and observations. Collaborates with Clinical Services and Quality and Health Center Operations leadership to identify and respond to issues affecting the delivery of patient care. Researches and recommends strategies and best practices and assists with the implementation of programs to increase patient care quality and patient experience. Consults with various departments, health center leadership and committees on the design, structure and implementation of quality improvement programs. Leads and facilitates cross-functional teams focused upon the implementation of quality improvement initiatives designed to improve patient care and safety; consults on the redesign of systems and processes. Assists with the development of training programs for staff on selected quality improvement tools, methods, and techniques. Actively participate in the quality metric review process, and work with providers and health centers on improving performance to achieve desired results. Acts as the content and technical subject matter expert to the health center leaders for key project initiatives including the development of detailed work plans, facilitating root cause analysis, identifying and socializing process enhancements, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring/summarizing project progress for quality improvement projects. Supports medical case review across health centers and providers. To be successful in this role, you'll need: High School diploma equivalent. and Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or 2 years comparable clinical back office medical assistant, Long-Term Care/Care Partners, Medication Technicians experience. Experience in Women's Healthcare preferred. or 2 years experience as a health educator, STD and/or HIV prevention counselor, community/public health worker or family planning educator. Experience in Women's Healthcare preferred. or Bachelor's degree In this role, you'll get to: Adhere to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the system for addressing client complaints. Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity and quality metrics. Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals. Perform and/or coordinate the following back-office functions: Obtain medical history, interview and educate clients ensuring informed consent Perform options and abortion education; make appointments/referrals for follow-up medical services. Perform basic lab work (e.g. Hgb, pregnancy test, urine dipsticks, venipuncture, injections) package specimens for outside lab tests, record lab results. Obtain vital signs (blood pressure, height, weight, etc.). Clean and sterilize equipment and stock lab and exam rooms. Assist Clinicians as needed. Gather information regarding sensitive subjects such as rape, STIs, risks of sexual activity for early teens, and abortions. Monitor center flow and client wait time. Input and update computer client data information. Responsible for the accuracy of client information entered into the Agency's Practice Management system and Electronic medical Record system. Ensure ongoing communication with Patient Flow Coordinator, Center Manager, and other center staff. Perform and/or coordinate the following front-office functions: Greet clients, answer phones, refer calls, and make appointments. Assess client finances, which may include verifying insurance, health plan authorization, Medi-Cal cards with picture ID, collect fees and donations per Agency guidelines, complete appropriate forms and obtain signatures per Agency policy review and reconcile billing on a daily basis. Input and update computer client data information. Schedule appointments for family planning including but not limited to contraceptives and abortion services. Provide Abortion referral and education. Provide sterilization education and education. Assist and support the clinical staff in the provision of: Contraceptive services. Medication abortion services including vaginal ultrasound. Colposcopy services. Comply with all safety policies and procedures including infection control. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g. annual TB testing, biannual review of emergency policies, procedures and drills, annual OSHA training review, etc.) per Agency policy and regulatory mandates. Attend trainings, staff meetings and in-services to maintain and increase knowledge of protocols and procedures. Ensure client satisfaction. Prepare center for opening and secure for closing, as required. Ensure successful completion of required unit. To support risk and quality management by proactively communicating identified risks to supervisor in order to minimize risk when possible.
